This new industry leading Sunview rooflight could not be easier to fit and is designed to be the last part of your roofing process, its innovative frame fits straight onto your pre built kerb after the roof covering has been applied and is simply screw fixed on the inside ready for your wall covering. There is no easier skylight on the market to fit, that is a fact. No external holes or fittings which have been proven to leak over time. The rooflight is designed to easily fit onto a timber upstand (4″ x 2″). Simply apply roof covering up the side of the upstand and then the rooflight fits over the top and is secured from the inside by screwing through the pre drilled holes in the frame (timber upstand not included). 3mm commercial grade welded, powder coated aluminium frame. Important: You should add +10mm to the stated size to get your internal / hole the roof measurement. For example, if purchasing a 1000mm x 2000mm rooflight, your opening should be 1010mm x 2010mm. Unlike our competitors, our rooflights are triple-glazed and laminated as standard – expertly crafted with three layers of only the highest quality of glass. The first layer incorporates a 10.8mm laminated pane. We use laminated glass as it dramatically increases the durability, safety and security of the rooflight. As opposed to tempered glass, laminated glass will not shatter into a thousands pieces. Instead, it becomes progressively harder to break through the glass even when it has been broken. This is why UK building regulations recommend that rooflights for a domestic extension should normally have a laminated glass inner pane to prevent risk of shattering and falling into a room (requiring the inner pane to be at least 8mm laminated glass). In addition to this, laminated glass help to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures as it is one of the best ways to combat UV rays while protecting your home from the outside elements. It’s also highly effective against solar gain for interiors too. This means that the laminated inner panes of the skylight allow visible light to pass through into living space below whilst absorbing and deflecting the vast majority of the UV transmittance. Another huge benefit of laminated glazing is its ability to reduce the impact of exterior noise pollution. Following the laminated glass is 4mm of softcoated toughened glass on the middle pane, finished off with 6mm of self-cleaning softcoated toughened glass on the outer pane – both separated with a 16mm argon filled warm edge spacer. The final pane uses our distinctive self-cleaning technology. Our three layers of laminated and toughened glass culminate to make an innovative rooflight like no other on the market – durable, strong, and weatherproof.
