We offer custom-built to order, factory floor glazed units with all orders dispatched directly from our sealing workshop, ensuring you get fresh, new just-toughened glass to comprise your units. We guarantee our skylights will never leak! For flat roofs with zero slope, we recommend your upstands achieve a minimum 5° pitch to assist with drainage. Additionally, our skylights come with a 100mm black border designed for a 70mm wide upstand. This configuration leaves you with a 25mm overhang on each side, allowing rainwater to channel away effectively whilst protection the outer seal. If your upstands are a different size, just let us know and we can customize your border to suit. ? Ordering the correct size. Ensure the perfect fit by ordering the correct size unit based on your roof opening’s INTERNAL measurements. For example, if you order a 1000mm x 1200mm unit, your ideal roof opening size would be 1010mm x 1210mm, allowing for 5mm room on each side for adjustments when installing. ?? Installation (Brief Guide). Measure opening: allow approx. 5mm tolerance all round for fitting. Prepare upstand: recommended 150mm high, 70mm wide, with 5° minimum pitch. Support batten: fit a perimeter batten underneath and line with structural glazing tape. Seal & place: apply compatible low modulus silicone, lower rooflight evenly, press to remove air gaps. Final seal: apply structural silicone around the underside perimeter where the border meets the upstand. Unit sizes under 600mm x 900mm can generally be handled safely by one person.
