With a centre pane U-value of 1.1 W/m2K the Skyseal Flat Glass is one of the most thermally efficient double glazed roof lights in the market. Glass Spec : 32.4mm Overall (1.1 W/m2K). 20mm 90% Argon filled cavity. 6.4 mm laminated soft coat Low E inner. Easy & Quick to Install. The Skyseal Glass Rooflight can be installed on a minimum 5° fall and offers a universal daylight solution for both residential and commercial projects. The 150mm PVC kerb is also Part L compliant, saving you or your builder time and hassle in building a conforming timber upstand. Why Is An Aluminium Frame Important? Our highly-developed Aluminium frame provides extra strength and rigidity, minimising structural movement in the skylight once installed, which significantly reduces the chances of failure. The aluminium frame on our rooflight acts as a protective layer, encapsulating the glass at its weakest points to prevent accidental damage that would otherwise shatter the glass. Provides added security attributed to its tamper-proof fixings accompanied by a strong silicone sealant making this skylight one of the most secure on the market. The frame is key in providing extra support to the glass on our roof light, ensuring the glass stays in place in the event of damage or shattering. A thermal break is a layer of low conductive material placed in the Aluminium frame of a skylight. This stops the internal side of the frame becoming cold and in turn eliminates condensation occurring internally on the frame. Environmentally friendly (all components are recyclable). Available with a part L compliant 150mm PVC kerb. How To Choose The Correct Size Flat Glass Skylight. We recommend a minimum 5 degree pitch to allow water to run off and prevent pooling on your new skylight. This can be achieved by creating a height difference in the installed upstand. What is a U-value? Thermal transmittance, also known as U-value, is a measure of heat loss through the structure. It is measured in W/m2K. The lower the value, the better the insulation. The UK Building Regulations require a maximum of 2.2 W/m2K in existing dwellings and an average of 1.2 – 1.7 W/m2K for new dwellings on rooflights.
